Neal Boulton
About Neal Boulton
In 2006, after many years editing America's foremost health and fitness magazines ( Men's Fitness , Shape , Muscle & Fitness , Muscle & Fitness Hers ), Neal Boulton founded The Obesity Council, an organization focused exclusively on obesity-related research. Funded through private donations, The Council's program development--designed to help Americans and their communities get fitter--is co-sponsored by Ford, Everlast, McDonald's, Gold's Gym and General Mills. This year, Boulton completed The Council's first report on the 50 Fattest Public Schools and the relationship their shrinking health and physical fitness curricula and nutrition-poor school lunch plans has had on childhood obesity. Boulton has also developed The Council's first educational program. Scheduled to launch in September 2008, Knocking Out Obesity will travel to the 10 fattest public schools with a fat-fighting childhood boxing training program and equipment donated to each school by Everlast.
Today, with his new platform, Boulton is using his years of fitness and health knowledge as well as his continued access to media--he has appeared on The View, regularly on The Today Show, CNN's Fit Nation, 360 with Anderson Cooper, and CNN's American Morning --to make fitness more than an industry about abs and more of a movement that will get America fit.
